I've passed by this place numerous times from Eaton Centre, but we finally had a chance to try it out. For some reason, I thought this place was only a grab and go place but they do have a nice dinning section inside. All their cocktails were pretty interesting combinations, it took me awhile to nail one down and finally got the caramel appletini - mix of vodka, apple cider, caramel syrup and a cube of caramel on skewer. It was like eating a bag of spiked candies.
For the main course, I had the most Canadian comfort food possible - roast duck poutine pizza. When it came to the table, the party sitting beside us couldn't keep their eyes off of it and kept asking if this was the poutine pizza and that it smell so good that they have to get it next time they come. It was a gigantic pizza. I only made a small dent into it by the end of the night and took the rest home which ended up to be 2 nights of my dinner. Yes, that is how much it was. So it was a good deal - 3 meals in one. I asked the server if anyone has finished this pizza in one seating and he said out of the probably the thousands of pizza they sold, only like 15 ppl have ate it all. But it was to die for, the melted cheese curds and gravy on the fries topped with shredded roast duck and caramelized onions - how can this not spell comfort food. I was indeed comfort and satisfied after eating this... also carrying my stomach out of the restaurant. Good thing I walked home so it was a good 1/2 hour stroll back to digest some of this.
Of course, I had no room for dessert after this. But the server we had was excellent, kept coming back to check with us and was very sociable. A very enjoyable dinner for the night taking away this crappy week I have had.
