Le Select Bistro
I missed out the last time my friends' went to this restaurant but I finally have a chance to go. We went pretty early for dinner @ 5:30pm and yet, the place was already filled with patrons eating. AMAZING. The menu was packed with words with French and English. It took me some time to read through the menu and to decide what I wanted. At the end, I've decided to get the prix-fixe menu. The soup of the day was puree mussels and tomato. They used a lot of mussels and tomato as it was very flavourful. You can definitely taste the two. The bread was nice and hot, fresh from the oven so it was perfect to go with the soup.

For the main entree, I got the steak frites - 4oz Alberta fillet with side of fresh frites. The steak was small but it was only 4oz so can't complain (I shouldn't be eating to much meat anyways). It was topped with caramelized shallots. The fillet was grilled to my perfection of medium rare, usually I get them too well done. It was very tender and easy to cut. There was a huge portion of fries, it definitely filled me up.

For dessert, I had the creme brulee. There was a good layer of caramelized caramel on top, very crunchy. The vanilla creme custard was very rich. It was served with a chocolate biscotti. It was a good sizable portion for dessert. After that, I was extremely full. It was a great prix-frix deal and good quality food.
